Welcome to In Harmony Ayurveda!
Our goal is to empower you to reach your best health and well-being using the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda.
What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda literally translates to “the science of life.” It is the traditional medicine of India, and it is often called the sister science to yoga, as it encompasses all aspects of life-body, mind, and spirit. Whether you are dealing with a specific condition, need help managing stress or anxiety, or are simply looking for a way to optimize your health, Ayurveda can provide a path to your best self.
Jessica Houghton C.A.S, P.K.S.
Jessica Houghton is a graduate of the California College of Ayurveda. She is a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist and Pancha Karma Specialist. She is also trained in Marma therapy and Yoga Nidra, a deeply healing form of guided meditation.
Jessica grew up in Washington State, where she majored in Theater and minored in Spanish at the University of Washington. Always with a thirst for knowledge, she has wandered around Mexico, South America, Spain, and India. As an actor, she spent many years in New York City and Los Angeles. Her interest in natural health and healing has been intertwined throughout her story for as long as she can remember and Ayurveda fits in perfectly.
Her own quest for health drew her to Ayurveda. After years of chronic health challenges and being told that she would always be dependent upon pharmaceuticals, her intuition whispered that there must be a better way. She believed that there was something out there that could treat the root of her issues, not just cover up the symptoms. She sought something that would support her body in healing itself, and thus found the path of Ayurveda.

Therapeutic grade herbal formulas are recommended if necessary to assist with any health challenges.
Follow-up visits are strongly recommended, as Ayurveda is not a “quick-fix,” but rather a holistic approach to living. Our goal is to support and empower you on your journey to optimal health in all aspects of your life.

Shirodhara is an ancient therapy used to unite body, mind, and spirit. A steady stream of warm, herbally infused oil is gently poured over the ajna chakra, or “third eye” of the forehead, stimulating the pineal gland, which is responsible for melatonin release in the body. It is a profoundly relaxing therapy that improves mental clarity and brings a sense of calm awareness to the receiver. Shirodhara is especially beneficial in the treatment of headaches, sleep disturbances, seasonal disturbances, anxiety, stress, and issues of mental clarity and focus.
Duration: 45 minutes
*Duration and Cost of Shirodhara includes head, neck, massage
Abhyanga is a traditional form of Ayurvedic oil therapy. It can be performed by either one or two practitioners. Specific, herb-infused oil is selected based on the individual needs of each client. It is warmed and applied utilizing specific choreographed strokes that encourage your body to release toxins and clear the pathways of the body, leaving you nourished, relaxed, and refreshed. It can be used as a stand-alone treatment, or as part of a deeper cleanse.
Duration: 60 minutes
Svedana is a traditional herbal steam treatment used to enhance detoxification. Medicinal herbs and essential oils chosen specifically for the client, create a divine steam that is used to open the airways and deeply relax the muscles, as the medicated oil from other Ayurvedic therapies moves further into the body, leaving you feeling nourished and deeply moisturized. This is a lovely add-on to any therapy (especially abhyanga).
